I recently finished Baby Girl’s crochet baby blanket (you know, after more than 9 months of working on it). It got me thinking about all the different baby blankets I’ve crocheted, so I thought I’d do a round up, including links to the original patterns! So here we go:
This is the first baby blanket that I crocheted. Although I don’t have any pictures of that first one that I made for my niece, I took pictures of a few of the other ones, including the one I made for Little Man. His was the last one I made before I moved on to try a new pattern…
If you’re looking for a fast and easy baby blanket, this is the one! Although crocheting corner to corner (or C2C) was a new concept for me, once I understood how it worked it was a breeze. This youtube video by Crochet Lovers is the one I watched to understand the C2C technique.
I made quite a few of these, but my favorite has been the following variation…
3. C2C Fox Blanket
This is one that I designed myself. I adapted this pattern by The Friendly Red Fox to make a large blanket for Little Man for his first birthday. Designing the fox face and figuring out how to do a large C2C design was a lot of fun. Soon, I’ll be designing a pattern for a large C2C blanket for Baby Girl, but I haven’t decided what animal/design I want on it yet. If you have any ideas or suggestions, leave them in the comments!
Finally, the baby blanket I just finished…
I adapted this pattern a little bit, mostly just doing more rows to make the finished product bigger. Although I love how this turned out, it took a long time to complete. This was due in part to the yarn weight that I used. But after working on the very fast C2C blankets, I wasn’t prepared for the time this one took to make it as big as I wanted.
I’m happy to have Baby Girl’s baby blanket done now that the weather has turned colder. Now I just need to get her baby quilt finished before her first birthday! Wish me luck!
Do you have any favorite crochet patterns that I should try out? Let me know in the comments!
